Vivek Ravisankar is the CEO and co-founder of HackerRank, a platform where developers solve challenges for games & jobs. The platform also serves as solution for recruiters to source and screen technical candidates with programming challenges. As a software engineer, Vivek has seen how the traditional labels such as years of experience and education are not enough to uncover the tech talent. To address this problem, he quit his job at Amazon as a software developer in the Kindle team and started HackerRank, the first Indian company backed by Y-combinator. The company is now in Silicon valley with a lot of credibility and backing of top venture firms like Khosla and Battery.
